Helping Nepal rebuild

Monday, April 27th, 2015

The big NGOs are handling the immediate disaster relief in Nepal, but if you want to make a contribution which will help in the long term, and in outlying areas, you might consider supporting Community Action Nepal via their Justgiving page.

CAN is a UK-based charity founded by Doug Scott CBE, who made the first British ascent of Everest in 1975, and for whom I led a trek in Everest’s back yard, including one of his early projects to build a school and health centre in Ghunsa, back in 1996. They’ve supported remote communities over many years, and are well placed to help in the worst affected areas of Gorkha and Helambu.
